At Grants With Kate, we understand that it is our responsibility as uninvited settlers on stolen land to learn to live as Treaty people, and to participate in redistributive justice and support land back movements across the continent. We are committed to actively disrupting the ways we benefit from ongoing systems of oppression, including settler colonialism, capitalism, ableism, racism and white supremacy.
We acknowledge that the land we work and live on is Dish with One Spoon Territory, and is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. We also acknowledge that Tkaronto/Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaty signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. Tkaronto/Toronto is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We are grateful to live and work on these lands.
If you have comments or suggestions about ways we can do better, we always welcome feedback.
